Bespoke Skill Acquisition
The Foundation’s bespoke skills acquisition program focuses jobs for the future while linking it to the 5 sectors of the Economy that would help facilitate sustaninable development in the Nigerian context .
These areas include Information Technology, Agriculture, Oil &Gas, Maritime and Construction.
Information TechnologyThe Foundation liases with various local, national and world class training providers to enable the youths aquire world class skills for the job of the future. Based on our STEM approach to education and the need for the advancement of Information Technology from a Nigerian perspective, the Foundation will train 500 Rivers Youths on IT and technical skills ranging from Mechine Learning with R, Internent of things (IOT), Artificial Inteligence, Power Business Inteligence (PowerBI), Pyhton, Data Analytics, Java Enterprise Apps with Deops, Dignixt-Big Data, Microsoft Certification, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), DevNet Associate and CyberOps Associate.
The aim of the above is to develop a RivTech Hub that will place Rivers State at the forefront of Information Technology in Nigeria and prepare the youths for the future of IT and AI.
MaritimeThe maritime industry can be further developed through the equipment of competent seafarers and officers that will help boost this sector. Our educational strategy is linked to our bespoke skills acquisition and education programs as they all work hand in hand with the aim of educating the Nigerian youth starting with Rivers State on various employability skills for the jobs of today and the job of the future.
To that end, the Foundation will impact 10 families each from the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers State via our Marine and logistics bespoke skills acquisition program.
Programs included in this plan are STCW , ISM Safety Management, Diploma in Ship Superintendency, Diploma in Transport Management, Advanced Diploma in Shipping Management, Master Greater than 3000 NCV, marine finance management, marine engineering certification and Port Management.
Oil and Gas/ConstructionIt is also the mission of the Foundation to train Rivers Youths on various oil and gas/ and construction skills to help boost the predominant economical section in Rivers State while reducing youth restiveness. These trainings will include but are not limited to: Rope Access, Quality Health and Safety (NEBOSH Certificate and Diploma), Non-Destructive Testing with focus on 6 methods (Ultrasonic testing, Magnetic particle, inspection, Acoustic emission, Dye penetrant, Radiography and Eddy Current NDT, Oil and Gas Project Management, Construction Project Management, Industrial Telescopic, A36 Lorry Loader training courses, Overhead Container Gantry Crane (N114 ), All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) – (N608), Forward Tipping Dumper (N204), Appointed Persons Lifting Operations – (N401), Chainsaw – Maintenance & Cross Cutting – (N602), Lorry Loader (N107), Hoise (N111b), Industrial Counterbalance Lift Truck (Noo1), Loader Compressor (N206), Load and Secure Excavator up to 5T (N124), Excavator 180 (N201)Construction Safety Awareness (S001), Concrete Pump – (N211), Confined Spaces (N702), Crane Supervisor (N405), Dozer (N215), Excavator 360 (N226), Excavator as a Crane (N100), Container Handler (N012) and other construction related trainings that enhance the employability skills of the youths.
